GREETINGS FROM MIGUEL DIAZ, PRESIDENT OF THE ROYAL SPANISH TENNIS FEDERATION
All tennis lovers have a date in Mallorca, in Manacor, to enjoy the best professional tennis
Once again, all tennis lovers have a date in Mallorca, in Manacor, to enjoy the best professional tennis. In the middle of summer, with the island full of life, the ATP Challenger circuit makes a stop at the Rafa Nadal Academy by Movistar. This event has already established itself in the Spanish calendar as one of the most important in the well-known “Pyramid” of tournaments supported by the RFET. It is very gratifying to see tennis players fighting to get into the top positions of the rankings at those moments in their careers, when everything is still to be done. Most of them are promising young players, like many of those who train at the Rafa Nadal Academy by Movistar, who are chasing a dream. It is not an easy path, and that is why the RFET has been determined to fill the calendar with events like this, so that our tennis players have the opportunity to climb the rankings without having to leave Spain. This has many advantages; economic, of course, but also emotional. Competitors always feel more supported playing at home. I would like to focus on the team that every year puts forward an event of this nature. It is not easy to win a tournament as demanding as an ATP Challenger. It is a high-profile event, with top-level tennis players, and all of this requires a great effort from the Rafa Nadal Academy by Movistar team. But I’m sure everything will turn out well, as always. From here I offer my support and affection for this classic Balearic summer tournament.
Miguel Diaz,
President of the Royal Spanish Tennis Federation
